The general consensus is that the ladies play longer points because they don’t have the same firepower of the guys.

Well, a lot of times you see what you are looking for. If you have a perception about something, chances are the first thing you are looking for are affirmations for that perception. Makes sense. 

When watching women’s tennis, don’t rallies seem to take longer to develop, and there seems to be more grinding from the back of the court? For sure the ladies play a lot more longer points, a lot more Extended Points, than the guys. That just seems like a no-brainer.
