Doubles is obviously more aggressive than singles. But exactly how much?

There are a lot of different ways you can construct a singles point. Certainly a lot more ways than a doubles point. Doubles is much more combative at the net than singles, and the numbers support what we feel – that taking control of the point, and coming forward yields many more winners than the singles game.

Let’s get straight to the numbers, for both men and women. This data, like the original Num3ers, comes from the 2015 Australian Open. It’s from the second round onwards in both the men’s and women’s draws.
