G’day from Turkey!
It has been a really good few days here in Turkey and the tournament kicked off last night with three solid matches. I wrote two stories late last night and here are the links to both of them.
www.wtatour.com – A Deeper Look: Serena vs Kerber
www.wtachampionships.com – In Depth on Azarenka vs Errani
Sara Errani did very well in the first match to lead 5-2 in the opening set then Azarenka came storming back and eventually pulled it out in the tie-breaker. Errani was unlucky to strain her right calf muscle in the tie-breaker so we will see this morning how she pulls up. Serena Williams was in devastating form in the second match and Angelique Kerber really didn’t know what hit her. Petra Kvitova got off to a great start and rolled to a straight sets win over Agnieszka Radwanska which will play a large roll on who advances to the semi’s.
I have also updated the main web page for the tournament on my braingame website with over 50 pictures from yesterday including some revealing Hawk-Eye graphics from two of the matches. Here is the link to that page.

Thanks so much for following the new blog and I look forward to updating it every day during this tournament, + the London ATP World Tour Finals in two weeks as well. Time for some breakfast and some strong Turkish coffee!
Cheers from Istanbul,
