Hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving weekend. It has not stopped raining in Texas, and it’s still going!

  1. Winners are far more abundant than in singles.
  2. First Strike rallies (0-4 shots) are pretty much everything.
  3. The last shot of the rally happens twice as much at net than the baseline.

  5. Errors are about the same at the front and the back of the court.

  1. Tennis is simply broken down to serving, returning, rallying & approaching.
  2. Know the winning %’s with each one – it will surprise you!
  3. Learn the best serve locations in each box, and the best spot to return to.
  4. Learn the best patterns of play to be more effective from the baseline.
  5. Figure out the right time to get to the net, and take backhands down the line.

25 Golden Rules of Doubles
FOCUS – New coaching about how to team more efficiently together

  1. Don’t cover the alley nearly as much as you want to.
  2. Don’t follow the ball. Your opponent’s body language gives better clues.
  3. The virtual “Center Window” is the most important part of the court.
  4. Play like beach volleyball, with a clearly defined “setter” & “spiker”.
  5. Learn the “j” and the “v” for optimal movement and success at the net.
